What are the different ways I can add cash to my International Trader account?

To fund your International Trader account you can make a debit card payment by telephone or online into your MarketMaster Account. Once the money is in your MarketMaster account you will need to call us to arrange the transfer of cash into your International trader account.

How do I transfer Foreign shares from my existing broker to my International Trader account?

In order to transfer shares from overseas markets you must open an International Trader account.

Once you have opened an International Trader account you must complete a Transfer from Current Broker form and send this to us for the attention of Transfers In. Download a Transfer from Current Broker form [PDF, 217KB].

Upon receipt of this form we will contact your existing broker to arrange the transfer of your shares.

Please note that if you are transferring any US stocks to your account you must complete and send to us a W8-BEN form before we can accept your stock. Download a W8-BEN form [PDF, 66KB] and a Guide to completing a W8-BEN [PDF, 198KB].

How do I transfer cash from my MarketMaster® trading account to my International Trader account?

To transfer money from your MarketMaster® trading account to your International Trader account please contact us on 0800 279 6551/ 0141 352 3909*. Instructions received by 4pm can be transferred on the same day.

Can I view my contract notes online?

International trader is a paperless trading platform, when your order has been met or trade is executed the trade details will appear in a pop up box, that you have to close down. Further information regarding the trade details is available in the account history section of the platform.

How do I log into my International Trader account?

Please click to view the International Trader login page (www.barclaysstockbrokersitrader.com), please be aware you will require your User ID and password.

Your User Id is contained within the welcome email sent to you when the account was opened.

Please note: These login details differ from your MarketMaster login.

How do I change my password for accessing the International Trader platform?

To change your password:

Click the 'Settings' icon at the top of the screen to open the Settings module.

Click the 'Password' tab.
Enter your current password.
Enter your new password.
Re-enter your new password to confirm.
Click Change password.
Click OK.

Which markets do I get live exchange pricing?

International Trader provides access to real-time streaming Level 1 & Level 2 market data on 26 International exchanges such as NASADQ, NYSE, TSX and NASDAQ OMX amongst others.

Live market data is available as a subscription pay for service, to view the list of real-time market data available and the costs for subscribing click on the ‘Subscriptions’ menu via ‘Start-up Wizard’ that pops up when logging into the platform.

You can also view the ‘Subscriptions’ menu by clicking ‘Settings’ to launch the ‘Start-up Wizard’

Please note subscription costs are quoted at a monthly rate and are charged in the domestic currency of the underlying exchange.

Your account is automatically enabled for 15 minutes delayed on most markets unless you have subscribed to live market data.

Please note, in order to see live pricing for Sweden, Finland and Denmark you can subscribe to NASDAQ OMX Nordic live pricing.

Why do I need a W8 Ben form?

A W-8Ben form is required when trading US equities, this allows us to apply preferential tax rates on any US stock dividends.

Please note that a faxed copy is only valid for 28 days. If we do not have the original form within 28 days, any US reportable stock would be sold.

Are there any restrictions on trading US equities?

Yes, please be aware residents of the following countries cannot trade in US stocks: Bulgaria, China, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey.
